Robstown Outlet Mall developers purchase land Thursday Feb 21, 2013, slate groundbreaking for summer.

ROBSTOWN — Investors in a planned Robstown outlet mall made another step Thursday toward breaking ground on the shopping center — buying the land.

Lockard Companies, along with partners Dolphin Ventures and EWB Development, announced the purchase of 74 acres on which to build the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay.

Construction on the complex near the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds is slated to begin this summer with plans to open its doors to shoppers next spring, officials have said.
